Terms & Conditions

Payment
Our terms of payment are 30 days from date of invoice, net.  We reserve the right to apply a surcharge in the event of failure to pay, late payment or repeated reminders having to be sent.

Once parents have sent a completed registration form for their child and informed us which course they wish their child to attend, we consider that they have a firm commitment to take up and pay for the place on the course.  We will naturally waive this obligation if we are ultimately unable to run the course for the term, time and location and if no suitable alternative can be found.

Missed classes
We regret that for logistical reasons, it is not generally possible for children to make up classes they have missed, nor can refunds be given for missed classes.  If a child suffers a lengthy illness or accident (evidenced by doctors note) or if the family moves away from the Lucerne area, it may be possible to refund fees on a pro-rated basis.

Parents should inform the class teacher IN ADVANCE OF THE LESSON if a child is going to be absent.

Should classes be cancelled due to teacher illness, classroom unavailability or the like, they will be made up at the end of the semester.  We are unable to provide alternative care for students on days when classes do not take place.

Withdrawal from courses
According to the rules set by the Department of Education, students registering for HSK classes do so for an entire academic year and can only withdraw at the end of that academic year.  We have a more flexible policy: Should you wish to withdraw your child from HSK Lucerne English School courses, you can do so by giving us notice  in writing of your intention to quit at the end of the current semester.

Should you decide to withdraw your child from a course part-way through a semester, a refund of the tuition fees for that semester is only possible under the terms of point 2, see above.

Insurance is the responsibility of the parents
No liability or responsibility is accepted by HSK Lucerne English School for any injury, illness, damage, loss, accident, involved in any activities howsoever suffered.  The School will not be liable for direct or indirect losses, arising from such injury, illness, damage, loss, accident, or expense including consequential loss or economic loss however caused.

Allergies
If your child has any allergies, please inform us exactly what the allergy is and how severe it is. In addition, it is the parents`responsiblity to have the correct medication nearby and be in the vicinty in the case of an emergency, depending on the severeness of the allergy.

Materials Needed in Class

Children must bring writing utensils with them: pencils, rubbers, colouring pens/pencils and a notepad to write in.  Essentially those materials required at the local school.
